Jamaica National Stakeholder Meeting
The First National Stakeholder Meeting on the Development of the Jamaica Marine Atlas was held at the Office of the Prime Minister, Kingston, Jamaica on the 25th of May 2011. The meeting brought together data managers, GIS specialists, administrators and researchers from a number of government agencies and university bodies (most of which comprise the National Council on Ocean and Coastal Zone Management of Jamaica) as a preliminary step towards the development of Jamaica’s national atlas.
Developer Course on Web-Atlas TechnologiesFrom the 25th to the 29th of April 2011, CMA participants identified as software developers for the project took part in a training course on web-atlas technologies at the offices of the Coastal Zone Management Unit in Barbados. This highly technical course covered a range of open-source software and scripting products which will be used for the development of the regional atlas, and could easily be adopted by national atlas project developers for their products.

Barbados National Stakeholder MeetingOn the 2nd of March 2011, representatives from government agencies, academic institutions and NGOs gathered at the Blue Horizon Hotel, Rockley, Barbados for the First National Stakeholder Meeting on the Development of a National Marine Atlas for Barbados; and the second national stakeholder meeting under the banner of the CMA project. The meeting was the first step in the development of the Barbadian initiative, which will involve the collaboration of several government departments, educational institutions and private data holders to collect, properly catalogue, and make available to the wider stakeholder community local coastal and marine data.
2010 Review and Planning Meeting for the Caribbean Marine Atlas Project
The 2010 Review and Planning Meeting on the Development of the Caribbean Marine Atlas Project was held in Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia from the 2nd to the 5th of August 2010. During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress of the CMA project at the national as well as regional level.

Saint Lucia National Stakeholder MeetingThe inaugural national stakeholder meeting on August 6th, 2010 in Saint Lucia was the first in a series of national stakeholder events aimed at sensitizing the local marine and coastal zone stakeholder community to the national marine atlas project and its progress, receive feedback and identify potential partners.
IODE MapServer Course for the Caribbean Marine AtlasAs the final workshop towards the development of the prototype Caribbean Marine Atlas, the Mapserver training course brought together all of the concepts presented and data products developed at earlier workshops, as well as introduced the Mapserver for Windows platform for developing interactive web-based atlases.
