- Purpose
- This data was gathered for a study that was seeking to determine the relationship between the spatial distribution of non-residual metals and total mercury in surficial sediments with clay content, and to idenfity metal enrichment regions in the Gulf of Paria. Several of the sampling sites were specifically located at the mouths of rivers that empty into the Gulf of Paria in order to investigate the contribution from land based sources of pollution.
